Well, technically it starts Friday, but I'm doing a little prep work to get myself ready for the competition. At first I thought this would be a breeze, but after calculating my calories needed to burn I'm already sweatin'... and I don't mean aerobically!
My goal is to lose 18lbs in 7 weeks. That means I've got to cut back my calories to 1400/day and up my workouts to 400 calories everyday. YIKES! Just when I was starting to get comfortable eating my chocolates after such a long Lent season I get a competition thrown in my face, and you know I can't say no to a little friendly competition! So here I am telling the world wide web about my endeavors because I'm hoping it will hold me accountable.
So I'm off to lace up my running shoes. On your mark, get set, GO!

It's 11 A.M.- Do you know where your breakfast is?
Ahh, another morning where I've somehow managed to skip breakfast-yet again. Between the laundry, the dogs, and an early morning phone call from a friend in need, I find myself rummaging through my fridge for something to quiet the gurgle in my belly.

They say breakfast is the most important meal of the day, but "they" must not have the snoring husband who keeps them awake all night, and the 11 month old baby who refuses to believe that there is not a party going on every night from midnight-4am in our living room. Most mornings I can barely manage to chug my cup of coffee to get my much needed caffeine perk for the day, let alone sit down for a well-balanced hearty breakfast!
As they say, "Today is a new day!" This is the day that I vow to eat breakfast each morning, and not only eat breakfast, but eat a healthy breakfast at that! As my good friends know-I'm a planner, so in order to make myself stick to this I've got to make a list of healthy breakfast options to choose from.
Egg white omelette with leftover veggies piled high
Whole Wheat English Muffin with Peanut Butter

Fruit Smoothie made with Whey Protein and Skim Milk.
Low-Fat Pumpkin Bread (look for this in a coming post)
